60 years of the Euro pallet and 30 years of EPAL
The European Pallet Association e. V. (EPAL) is celebrating its 30th birthday in 2021 and also the 60th birthday of the Euro pallet.
With almost 400 licensees, EPAL Germany is the largest national committee of EPAL and represents the trademark holder in Germany with the quality assurance of EPAL pallets and EPAL pallet cages.
Founded in 1991 as an international association for exchangeable Euro pallets, EPAL is now represented in more than 30 countries. With around 600 million EPAL Euro pallets currently in circulation, the EPAL Euro pallet exchange pool is the largest open pallet exchange pool in the world. The Euro pallet was invented in 1961 as a standardized exchange pallet. The beginning of a unique success story. Exchangeability through quality and quality through quality assurance - that is the simple formula. The EPAL technical regulations are the basis for the internationally uniform quality and standardized dimensions of the EPAL Euro pallet. EPAL's comprehensive quality assurance with around 21,000 quality controls per year guarantees trouble-free processes in international warehousing and transport logistics.
