New committee members
Aircargo Club Germany elects Executive Committee
The new Executive Committee of the Aircargo Club Deutschland has been appointed: Achim Martinka (Head of Germany at Lufthansa Cargo AG) and Benjamin Riege (Marketing Director at Riege Software) are joining the Executive Committee of the Aircargo Club Deutschland with immediate effect. The new board also thanked the two outgoing board members, Mathias Jakobi and Christoph Papke, for their work to date. The two airfreight experts stepped down after fifteen and six years in office respectively due to changes in their professional focus.
Martinka and Riege were elected unanimously at the Annual General Meeting on January 14. Achim Martinka will therefore hold the position of Vice President for the next two years and Riege will act as Chief Financial Officer. The previous President, Prof. Dr. Christopher W. Stoller, was also unanimously confirmed in his office.
Martinka has been Head of Lufthansa Cargo Germany since the middle of last year. The business economist began his career at Lufthansa Cargo in 2000 as Senior Manager Global Accounts and has held various positions at the carrier since then. Benjamin Riege is Marketing Director at Riege Software, one of the leading providers of cloud-based software solutions for the logistics industry. He joined the family business over 20 years ago and has been closely associated with the ACD ever since.
"Air freight is a success factor for Germany as an export nation. Especially against the backdrop of the weakening economy, the Aircargo Club Deutschland, with the support of the new members of the Executive Committee, will step up its efforts in the future and act as the industry's mouthpiece for Germany as an air freight location," says Prof. Dr. Christopher W. Stoller, President of the Aircargo Club Deutschland.
In addition, members Winfried Hartmann, Ewald Heim and Tilo Hohtanz were honored at the Annual General Meeting for their services to the air freight industry.
