TGW and Safelog

Partnership for mobile robots

The TGW Logistics Group is further expanding its solution expertise in the field of mobile robotics and is entering into a partnership with Safelog. As a system integrator, TGW is thus expanding its robotics portfolio under the name Quba. Safelog produces large quantities of its market-proven and productivity-enhancing transport robots in series. TGW customers thus benefit from scalable automation of their transportation processes as well as short delivery and project times.

Whether fashion, textiles, food or industrial and consumer goods - TGW plans and implements highly automated, efficient and future-proof fulfillment centers. The system integrator offers complete solutions from a single source - from incoming goods to storage, picking and packing to outgoing goods.

Mobile transport robots are playing an increasingly important role in this. "Mobile robots are a key technology for future-proof intralogistics. The partnership with Safelog as one of the leading AGV specialists opens up new possibilities for mobile robotics in intralogistics. Our customers benefit from efficient, reliable and powerful door-to-door solutions," explains Harald Schröpf, Chief Executive Officer of TGW Logistics Group.

The cooperation includes the project-related delivery of all agent-based AGV systems from Safelog. "We are delighted to have TGW, one of the leading general contractors in intralogistics, as our partner," says Safelog Managing Director Mathias Behounek. "This shows that mobile robots are no longer innovation projects, but a proven technology for the mass market. Our common goal is to gain further market share by pooling our expertise." As Safelog produces its AGVs in series, the robotics manufacturer can also deliver large quantities in a timely manner.

The agent-based transport robots produced in Germany are marketed by TGW under the name Quba. This allows AGV fleets of a few to several hundred devices to be operated efficiently and without a control station. Additional robots can be integrated into the system at any time and at short notice. Decentralized control increases process reliability. In the event of a malfunction, only the affected vehicle comes to a standstill while the swarm continues to carry out its tasks. The cost-intensive standstill of entire fleets is therefore largely eliminated.
