New training center in Tyrol
Robotics you can touch: Universal Robots welcomes MCI
Practical robotics training for Austria: Since May 2021, the Innsbruck Centre for Production, Robotics & Automation has been an authorized training center of Universal Robots (UR). The center is a joint initiative of the Entrepreneurial School and the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV) Tyrol. The cobot market leader from Odense, Denmark, wants to make access to automation even easier for SMEs in Austria by offering on-site training. In addition to suitable training hardware, the prerequisites for authorization were certified, technically and didactically experienced trainers.
"Our training courses provide all participants with in-depth robotics knowledge. From the basics of programming in the core training courses to the implementation of a complex cobot application: In all training courses, we focus on practical knowledge transfer and the highest quality," explains Benjamin Massow, Head of the Center for Production, Robotics & Automation.
"We are delighted that companies in Austria now have a highly qualified local contact for robotics training thanks to our cooperation," says Andrea Alboni, General Manager Western Europe at Universal Robots (pictured). "They don't have to send their qualified specialists all the way to Vienna or abroad to take part in a UR training course. This means they are back at the company quickly in an emergency and can still build up a sound knowledge of robotics."
Interested parties will soon be able to form their own opinion by taking part in one of the numerous workshops. The training center will be offering new UR courses in autumn and winter 2021. The program will include core training and unboxing workshops, where the robot systems will be unpacked, tested and programmed. Benjamin Massow knows what participants can expect: "Users attend this course without the slightest prior knowledge, and half a day later they have their first ideas for their own cobot application."
Universal Robots and the Center for Robotics, Production & Automation at the MCI in Innsbruck have been cooperating since 2020 with the aim of supporting companies in the implementation of new technologies. The aim is to show companies and students the opportunities offered by innovative technologies and methodical approaches within smart production. The partners are implementing this project together with Schmachtl, an Austrian distributor of Universal Robots, and are holding events, workshops and seminars on the MCI campus. In addition, joint research projects are planned in which the companies can use collaborative robots from UR.
