The new development is intended to close a gap in the service portfolio: the safe and automated pick-up of pallets or other goods directly from the ground and their autonomous transportation. The solution will combine MiR's navigation technology and software with the functionality of the electric industrial trucks developed by Logitrans over the last 80 years.

The joint development complements MiR's current autonomous mobile robots (AMR) for high payloads, which transport pallets or other goods safely and autonomously between people, objects and other industrial trucks in dynamic environments. However, these are so-called underride solutions. In the case of transporting a pallet, so-called "pallet racks" are used, i.e. transfer stations for picking up and unloading pallets.

"Our mission has always been to make companies' intralogistics more productive and competitive - and this new cooperation is another big step in this direction. Combining our software competencies with Logitrans' decades of hardware expertise will help us to support our customers across their entire value chain," says Søren E. Nielsen, President of MiR. "Once we launch the autonomous forklifts, MiR will be able to offer companies smart solutions for almost all in-plant transportation tasks. By working with Logitrans, we can meet the growing demand for these transportation systems even sooner. This in turn helps our customers achieve their business goals faster," continues Nielsen.

"We are aware of the increasing demand for automation within intralogistics, especially in the handling of pallets," adds Gitte Kirkegaard, CEO of Logitrans. "It is part of our identity to act as a pioneer in product development within our business area. The ability to automate our products will help us to maintain our leading position. As we do not have the necessary in-house implementation capabilities for this type of product, the collaboration with MiR is a great symbiosis. Thanks to the combined expertise and the ability to customize, we see a future where customers get exactly the AMR solution they need."
