Investment in the millions
Largest cobot center to be built in Denmark
The Danish robotics companies Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) and Universal Robots (UR) are investing 36 million dollars in a new cobot center. They will continue to develop and produce collaborative robots in the Danish city of Odense.
The world's largest cobot center is being built on an area of 50,000m2 in Odense, Denmark, and will itself cover 32,000m2. The building site is located close to UR's current headquarters, which will be integrated into the new cobot center. The companies acquired the site together with the US parent company Teradyne. Teradyne is thus once again investing in the two young Danish robotics companies. The company is supporting the major project in order to strengthen the subsidiaries' global leadership positions in the long term.
Collaborative robotics is a fast-growing market segment. The robots are characterized by the fact that they work together with humans without protective devices. Odense is considered the cobot capital of the world, as other companies in the sector are also based there.
