The extension at the gates of the ArcelorMittal steel group is due to be ready for occupancy at the end of 2021. As a provider of industrial automation and robotics, Unitechnik Automatisierungs GmbH plans and implements customized systems for production automation and process engineering in various industrial sectors. Its customers include ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steel producer. Due to continuous growth, an extension is currently being built on a total of 2,500m2. The focus is on new areas for production and training as well as office space. A new IT department will drive forward the topics of artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and warehouse management for the heavy industry sector. A separate area for research and development will be created within the new hall. In future, all of the high-tech company's current 104 employees will work under one roof and benefit from a modern working environment.

With the extension, Unitechnik is laying the foundations for optimizing internal processes in engineering, production and assembly. "With the new building, we are not only significantly expanding our engineering department. We are also investing in a state-of-the-art production facility and centralizing our processes at a single location," says Karsten Boldt, Managing Director of Unitechnik Automatisierungs GmbH.
