From planning and building electrical control systems to tailor-made logistics centers: In its 50-year company history, Unitechnik has constantly expanded its product and service portfolio. The intralogistics sector has kept the automation experts busy since the company was founded. Initially, it was production systems in which workpieces were transported, delivered and buffered. One of the first sectors was the ceramics industry.

In terms of technology, Unitechnik has also witnessed numerous breakthroughs, from computers to virtual reality, and implemented them in its projects. Examples of this include contactor controls in the 1970s and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the 1980s. The introduction of computer control systems at the beginning of the 1990s marked the birth of the logistics systems that Unitechnik still supplies today. In 1992, the first warehouse management computer was created on a MicroVAX computer. Even before the turn of the millennium, Unitechnik realized the first high-bay warehouses as a general contractor. In 2004, the first complete logistics center was put into operation.

The warehouse management system is now called UniWare and features integrated material flow control and system visualization. It forms the heart of the Unitechnik logistics systems. To this day, Unitechnik has remained true to its philosophy as a manufacturer-independent system integrator in order to always develop the best individual solution for the customer. Since 2018, the many years of expertise in the design of logistics solutions has been offered as an independent service: Logistics Consulting. Unitechnik sees itself as a lifetime partner and accompanies its customers through all the life cycles of their systems - in some cases for 50 years.
