Outsourcing the logistics business to contract logistics service providers opens up many opportunities for companies. "One of the biggest advantages is that companies benefit from our extensive know-how as an experienced logistics expert," explains Nicolas Gallenkamp, Managing Partner of Nosta Holding GmbH. For over 35 years, the family-run company has been active in the areas of national and international land transportation, sea and air freight transportation, warehousing, contract logistics and value-added services, offering the entire spectrum of innovative services. The Nosta Group has more than 40 locations across Europe, where it currently employs around 750 people. The company also has around 250,000 square meters of logistics space and goods handling areas at 13 locations. Through its subsidiaries GKU mbH, Gesellschaft für komplexe Unternehmenslogistik mbH and Feil GmbH, the Nosta Group also has expertise in the production of a wide range of load carriers.

Wanted: a partner who thinks along with you

"Today's logistics customers need a real partner who thinks along with them and delivers tailor-made logistics solutions," says Andreas Wolke-Hanenkamp, Managing Director of Nosta-Transport GmbH. "Especially in the area of contract logistics, this is added value that pays off for our customers." The Nosta Group provides all logistics services for its customers as part of a long-term contract. These are not only dovetailed with the company's processes, but are also tailored to the requirements of the respective industry. In addition to transportation by truck, train, ship or plane, the logistics specialist offers additional services: from the storage of goods, order picking, invoicing and quality control to customs clearance and individual value-added services. Efficient personnel concepts, the continuous optimization of processes and support in the area of IT systems are also part of the wide range of services. This close cooperation allows customers to focus primarily on their core business.

Step by step to greater effectiveness

The project planning phase is divided into four sections. During a consultation, the common goals of the collaboration are first defined and the structures of the overall concept are determined. Then it's time to get started: on the basis of a detailed process analysis, weak points are identified and the concrete target status is formulated. In the third phase, operational and administrative implementation begins. Once an initial framework agreement has been concluded and the budget has been set, Nosta takes care of the structural and process organization of the project. They not only optimize the IT, warehouse and conveyor technology, but also train the future employees. In order to guarantee the high quality and effectiveness of the logistics processes in the long term, the aim is to continuously develop the systems and constantly optimize the processes.

One contact for all matters

Many production companies use different forwarders and carriers for transportation. However, this usually involves a great deal of administrative and organizational effort. Individual contracts have to be agreed and invoices prepared for each shipment. In contrast, working with an experienced logistics service provider such as the Nosta Group offers numerous advantages. The logistics expert has access to specialist knowledge, its own fleet of vehicles and a network of partners and undertakes not only to transport goods, but also to organize the entire transport process. He is the competent contact partner for his customer in all matters relating to the transportation process - including legal and administrative matters.

Individual industry solutions

In the past, the Nosta Group has already developed and implemented a large number of successful contract logistics concepts for customers from a wide range of industries. In particular, the company has made a name for itself as a partner to the paper industry with individual industry solutions. However, the medium-sized logistics company has also established itself in other sectors.

For many years, the company's customer base has included a well-known wheat starch producer that serves both the non-food and food sectors. "After we were initially commissioned to carry out the transportation of raw materials at home and abroad, the cooperation has gradually expanded due to the high level of satisfaction of our customer," says Andreas Wolke-Hanenkamp. "We have now positioned permanent employees at the production site who oversee the entire transport management process and, in addition to preparing invoices and customs documentation, also carry out quality checks and inspections." In order to guarantee the highest standards and quality in the food sector, the guidelines of the HACCP concept are strictly adhered to when handling raw materials. "Depending on the company's situation, we work with the customer to design tailor-made logistics concepts that optimize the flow of goods. The prospect of long-term cooperation opens up joint development potential for us," Nicolas Gallenkamp sums up.
