Caravan specialist expands its logistics center

The caravan specialist Frankana is once again expanding its logistics center and is relying on Klinkhammer. Due to increased demand, the facility at the Gollhofen site is being enlarged by an additional hall, connected to Klinkhammer's conveyor system and equipped with a modern incoming goods area, pallet and cantilever warehouse.

With this expansion, Klinkhammer is already implementing the third expansion stage for Frankana in Gollhofen. The existing facility includes a pallet, shelf and cantilever storage system as well as an automatic order consolidation buffer for containers. Increased demand made it necessary to add another hall: An intelligent conveyor system connects the storage areas with the pick-by-voice picking, packing and dispatch areas over three floors. Full and empty container conveyor technology arranged one above the other links the existing system with the new hall. A modern incoming goods area with 12 service and returns workstations and the shipping area will ensure optimized workflows and processes thanks to the conveyor technology connection. In addition, the warehouse management system is to be expanded to include a manual pallet warehouse with nine aisles and 4,500 storage locations as well as a cantilever warehouse. Thanks to the new conveyor technology and the modern workstations, ergonomic work that is easy on the back and joints will be possible.
