In addition, the training and qualification of professional drivers in freight and passenger transport is to be promoted.

Dr. Gerhard Schulz, Chairman of the Management Board of Toll Collect GmbH, says: "The goals of the association deserve broad support. As a toll operator, we want to help ensure that employees in the transport industry receive more recognition. This applies in particular to professional drivers, whose field of work is opening up new and attractive prospects as a result of digitalization."

Prof. Dr. Dirk Engelhardt, Chairman of the Board of the PROFI Association and Spokesman of the Board of the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL): "We are very pleased about Toll Collect's commitment to the PROFI - Pro Driver Image Association. This is a clear commitment to an indispensable profession in the day-to-day supply of the population and the economy: the professional driver."

Toll Collect collects the truck toll for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tons or more on around 51,000 route kilometers and settles the fee with around 250,000 national and international companies. Around 1.46 million trucks subject to toll are currently registered with Toll Collect, of which more than 648,000 (as of November 2020) are from Germany.
