Krone presents Coil Liner Compact at the IAA Commercial Vehicles
Werlte, 17.08.2016 - With the new Coil Liner Compact, Krone offers a semi-trailer that has been specially tailored to the requirements of steel transporters. The tare weight of the trailer is less than 5,000 kg, which increases the payload and enables the transportation of particularly heavy coils or larger quantities of slit strip. The trailer will be on display at the IAA Commercial Vehicles.
The Coil Liner Compact is a further development of the Coil Liner Ultra; the main changes are the shortening of the vehicle length to 10 m and the shortened coil trough to 6.3 m in length. Another special feature of the vehicle is the new Vario Coil System, with which Krone has created a solution for the individual load securing of coils. The new load securing system is based on two lateral locking rails in the carrier. Thanks to the ratchet rails, coils/split coils of any size and weight can be loaded onto the vehicle's center of gravity, eliminating the need for the stanchions that were previously used to secure the load. The grid rail enables the variable positioning of the support beam and the struts at intervals of 200 mm. The load is then secured by the stanchions, which in turn are supported by the struts. red
