New study

Martin Schrüfer,

BPW among the top 1 percent of German employers

BPW Bergische Achsen KG has been recognized as one of Germany's top employers and trainers by renowned institutes and media for years. Now another study confirms that the family-owned company is among the top 1 percent in terms of employer quality: around 70,000 companies were examined for the "Leading Employer 2019" seal.

With solutions for electromobility, the networking of transport and logistics as well as profoundly digitalized production and mobility concepts, the BPW Group (around 7,200 employees worldwide, 1.48 billion turnover in 2017) has become one of the innovation leaders in the commercial vehicle industry within just a few years. Without the active support of the workforce and managers, such rapid change is almost impossible to master. BPW has succeeded: Studies commissioned by the F.A.Z. and FOCUS have repeatedly recognized BPW as a top employer for years.

This result has now been confirmed by what it claims is the world's most comprehensive employer rating system: Around 70,000 companies were examined for the "Leading Employer 2019" seal of approval. The award, which is presented in partnership with ZEIT, is based on big data analyses and a panel of experts. They combine a wide range of quality criteria into a holistic view, including aspects such as image, employee satisfaction and offers, talent development, HR performance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), health management and more.

At the same time, FOCUS, FOCUS Money and FOCUS Business also renewed BPW's awards as "Top National Employer", "Best Training Company" and "Digital Champion" for 2019.

Barbara Höfel, Head of Human Resources and Member of the Management Board at BPW: "Consistently occupying top positions in the most important employer rankings over the years makes us very proud. Together with our employees, we have developed a sustainable corporate culture that gives us inner strength and has enabled us to become an innovation leader. At BPW, traditional values such as belonging and social responsibility are combined with progressive management concepts and agile methods. We will continue to develop our organization on this basis in order to offer our employees even more personal responsibility and development opportunities."
