10,000 euros for the Uwe Seeler Foundation

On February 6, Dr. Bernard Krone and Bernard Krone presented Uwe Seeler with a cheque for 10,000 euros for the Uwe Seeler Foundation. The former captain and honorary captain of the German national soccer team expressed his gratitude for the donation and explained that the money will be used to support people who are dependent on the help of others due to their physical, mental or emotional condition. "Anyone who owes so much to sport and is on the sunny side of life should give something to those who have never had the opportunity to experience such happiness and are on the dark side of life," said Uwe Seeler.

Dr. Bernard Krone was delighted to meet the legendary top scorer of the Hamburg sports club in person. "Uwe Seeler was one of the best center forwards in the world; at the same time, his name also stands for fair sportsmanship and absolute loyalty. Today it is hard to imagine that a player would turn down an offer of millions from abroad to continue playing for his home club. It is not without reason that many older and younger soccer fans throughout Germany appreciate this down-to-earth and sincere man."

Following the presentation of the cheque, Uwe Seeler discussed issues relating to amateur and professional soccer with around 50 guests from regional soccer clubs.
