Young Engineer Woman Award: Femworx jury nominates three female experts
A jury consisting of members of the Femworx Congress Advisory Board has nominated three young female experts for the Young Engineer Woman Award. The winner will be announced on April 26 during the Femworx Career Congress.
Award for young talents
With the Young Engineer Woman Award, Deutsche Messe AG honors young women who have rendered outstanding services in the scientific and technical disciplines at the Hannover Messe.
The initiative is intended to encourage companies to honor and promote the performance and special commitment of their young female employees in STEM professions even more. The three nominees for the Young Engineer Woman Award (listed in alphabetical order) are:
Michèle Korošec is a physicist and works as a Data Science Consultant at Sopra Steria. In the INA (Intelligent Network Analyzer) project, she and her team are developing a digital twin of the mobile network for a German mobile network provider. Michèle Korošec uses quantum computing to optimize traffic flows in the network, bringing together university research with business interests. As a member of the Quantum Computing Initiative at Sopra Steria, she is involved in the development of modern quantum computing solutions. She also supports young women in the STEM field and was a mentor in the Cybermentor program for female students interested in STEM. She has also already been involved internationally at Sopra Steria when she taught physics and computer science at a school in India as part of the International Volunteering Program.
Dr. Annika Möslein completed her doctorate in engineering at Oxford and then joined Quantum Dice as Technical Project Manager for the research and development programs. She quickly took on responsibility in all areas of planning, design, production, testing and validation and contributed to the development of new patents with her ideas. For example, Dr. Möslein led the development of quantum random number generators and their impact on Monte Carlo simulations - a new application of quantum technology (besides IT security) in finance, physics, risk analysis or climate modeling. With her technical background, she quickly became involved in all areas. Her ability to think creatively, present well thought-out ideas and take initiative is a great asset to the company.
Sahana Shastry received her Master of Science in Space Sciences and Technologies from the University of Bremen last year. Since then, she has been working as a systems engineer at DSI Aerospace on on-board electronics mass storage systems for the extension of ESA's Copernicus program. She also heads the working group of Women in Aerospace Europe, where she wrote the white papers. This group investigates and implements measures to bridge the skills and gender gap in the aerospace industry. In her spare time, Sahana Shastry is an advisory member and COO on the board of the student rocket and aerospace group ASTRA e. V. from Bremen. She is also co-author of the chapter on EDI to promote the new space economy in the Oxford Handbook of New Space Economy.
