Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of the trade fair, explained the choice of the partner country with the important role that the South American country plays in renewable energies and digitalization. "Brazil is the ideal partner country for Hannover Messe 2026, not only because of its global leadership in key technologies such as renewable energies and digitalization, but also because of its outstanding geopolitical importance. In a dynamically changing global economy, close cooperation with Brazil is of enormous strategic relevance. This combination makes Brazil an indispensable partner for Germany and Europe on the path to a sustainable and future-proof industry," says Köckler.

According to Germany Trade & Invest, the foreign trade agency of the Federal Republic of Germany, Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America. With around 216 million inhabitants, large agricultural, raw material and energy resources and a broad-based industry, the country is one of the world's leading economies.

Germany is Brazil's largest European economic partner: more than 1,500 German subsidiaries generate around 10 percent of Brazil's industrial GDP and create 250,000 jobs. In view of the current geopolitical changes, Brazil is playing an increasingly strategic role, particularly for German interests in the areas of climate protection, skilled workers and supply chains. As part of its industrialization strategy, Brazil is focusing on revitalizing its industrial sector, making it an attractive customer for solutions and products presented at Hannover Messe.

"The announcement of Brazil as Partner Country of Hannover Messe 2026 is a strategic opportunity to strengthen the country's role as a global player in innovation and industrial technologies. Participating in the fair allows us to connect Brazilian companies with the most important companies in the sector, highlighting our competitive potential and attracting investments that drive the sustainable development and digitalization of our industry," says Jorge Viana.

"I welcome the partnership between Brazil and Deutsche Messe AG for Hannover Messe 2026. As the world's leading trade fair for industrial technologies, Hannover Messe will offer Brazil the opportunity to showcase how its abundant and competitive renewable energies will promote a sustainable industrial transformation, a low-carbon economy and the technological capabilities of its companies. The complementary capacities of Brazil and Germany can be leveraged to develop strategic production chains for a low-carbon economy," adds Roberto Jaguaribe, Brazil's Ambassador to Germany.

This year, the trade fair counted 130,000 visitors. In 2025, the industry show will take place from March 31 to April 4. The partner country will then be Canada.
