PAKi Logistics files patent infringement suit against CHEP Germany's quarter pallet
PAKi Logistics GmbH, the owner of the European patents EP 2 487 117, EP 2 878 548 and EP 2 878 549, which are in force in numerous European countries, including Germany, has today filed an action for infringement of all three patents against a competitor product of the IPP Logipal 1.4 quarter pallet, the quarter pallet of CHEP Deutschland GmbH, before the Düsseldorf Regional Court. Both the particularly advantageous design of rounded and inwardly offset corners for holding corner flaps of merchandise displays and the special design of holders on the side surfaces of the pallets, in particular the wedge-shaped cross-sections, are the subject of the patent infringement proceedings. The possibility of arranging 1/8 displays on the quarter pallet and providing special slots for this purpose also originates from an innovation of the logistics service provider PAKi of the Pooling Partners group.

With the 1.4 quarter pallet, IPP Logipal GmbH has been offering an innovative product since 2012, which has been consistently developed further. The company's aim was to create competition in a market that had previously been very one-sided on the supplier side. With new mounting options for different display formats and new developments for easy handling, the product has not only won over many users, but also impressed the competition fairly quickly after its launch on the market.
The patent infringement proceedings are being conducted before the Düsseldorf Regional Court under file number 4c 102/17. For legal reasons, please note that opposition proceedings initiated by Chep are pending against European patent EP 2 878 548 and European patent EP 2 878 549.
