CeMAT 2018: Strong double with the Hannover Messe
Next year, CeMAT will move closer to Hannover Messe and will be held at the same time as the world's most important industrial trade fair at the Hannover Exhibition Center. "Together with Hannover Messe, CeMAT forms a strong duo, with CeMAT exhibitors benefiting directly from the large number of top decision-makers from international industry. Thanks to its clear positioning as the leading global trade fair for networked production, Hannover Messe has become much more attractive to visitors from all over the world in recent years. They come to Hannover to find out about innovations and the latest concepts and solutions relating to Industry 4.0. The exhibitors at Hannover Messe welcome the parallelism with CeMAT, as intralogistics is an important part of the smart factory and manufacturers are thus making an important contribution to the further optimization of the industrial value chain," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG.

CeMAT and Hannover Messe are each organized as independent trade fairs, but synergies are leveraged where it makes sense. These are primarily to be found in the Industrial Automation halls. This is where the heart of Industry 4.0 beats - networked, autonomous and self-organizing production. Customers increasingly want products that are individually tailored to them and their needs. This in turn requires extremely flexible production, which can only be achieved with Industry 4.0 concepts. "Production is currently changing dynamically and with it the requirements for intelligent and networked intralogistics. By incorporating CeMAT into Hannover Messe, we are offering visitors a unique platform to find out about all the new technologies and solutions relating to Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 in a global context. The independence of CeMAT, with its own focus on Logistics 4.0, is important in order to specifically address logistics professionals from all sectors and from all over the world. Especially those who do not see their home in industry. ", explains Köckler.
The 2016 Hannover Messe attracted 190,000 visitors, one in three of whom came from abroad and almost one in two from the manufacturing industry. In addition, international decision-makers from the retail and service sectors in particular are expected to attend CeMAT in 2018. Online trade is expected to continue to grow strongly, and logistics companies are therefore increasingly relying on automated solutions. They will find these at CeMAT.
Focus on Logistics 4.0 concepts
CeMAT is located in the north of the Hanover exhibition grounds and can therefore be reached by visitors via the busy entrances in the north area.
Logistics IT will once again be at the center of the CeMAT presentations. The exhibition area itself is in Hall 19/20, but IT plays an important role at almost all stands. "The digitalization of the entire supply chain across company boundaries is a prerequisite for the design of autonomous and self-controlling logistics chains. There are already many individual technical solutions, such as warehouse management systems, intelligent containers and driverless transport systems. Visitors to CeMAT in Hanover will be able to see how these solutions work together and what competitive advantages they offer," says Köckler.
One of the companies exhibiting in the Logistics IT section is Team GmbH from Paderborn. Managing Director Michael Baranowski welcomes the integration of CeMAT into the Hannover Messe: "Digitalization and Logistics 4.0 are moving the industry. Companies are facing up to the challenges of globalization, developments in e-commerce and same-day delivery. This is leading to a complete reassessment of existing IT solutions. Future-proof answers are only possible with the latest technologies. CeMAT 2018 in combination with the Hannover Messe provides the ideal framework for securing investment decisions."
Pavilions under the Expo roof show solutions for the logistics of tomorrow
The three pavilions under the Expo roof will once again be home to the leading industrial truck manufacturers. The adjacent Halls 25 and 26 will also feature industrial trucks and accessories, as well as cranes and accessories for the first time. The outdoor area will be available for CeMAT. In total, the trade fair occupies an exhibition area of 110,000 square meters, making it the world's largest trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management. "CeMAT is a trade fair that showcases complete solutions for the logistics of the future. In conjunction with the Hannover Messe, it will continue to gain in importance internationally and be a trend barometer for the entire industry," says Köckler.
Manufacturers of conveyor technology and robotics as well as suppliers of production logistics solutions will be exhibiting in Hall 21, while the adjacent Hall 24 will focus on transport logistics, packaging technology and labeling technologies. "We will once again be working on the packaging topic independently and expanding it further, as it is an important topic for intralogistics," explains Köckler. Industry 4.0 concepts mean new opportunities for the packaging industry. The packaging of a product can be very individual, but can also have intelligence itself and provide information about the product.
Intralogistics solutions at the upcoming Hannover Messe
Suppliers of intralogistics solutions will be demonstrating their expertise in Pavilion 32 at Hannover Messe 2017. Around 20 CeMAT exhibitors will show what contribution they can make to the industrial value chain and how efficient the industry is. In addition to the exhibitor presentations, the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau) and Deutsche Messe AG are jointly organizing a forum on current intralogistics topics relating to production. "Industry 4.0 and intralogistics are directly linked. At the CeMAT pavilion at Hannover Messe 2017, we will show visitors what intralogistics solutions for production processes and the supply chain are capable of today. There are virtually no limits to the technical possibilities. That's why we're also giving a small preview of the technical developments of the future," emphasizes Sascha Schmel, Managing Director of the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association.
