With 1,300 employees, X-KOM is a well-known retailer of consumer electronics, IT and computers in Poland. In order to meet the requirements of e-commerce in the future, the company decided to redesign its distribution center.

A two-aisle container warehouse with level-bound shuttle vehicles was implemented. This has around 30,000 storage spaces. It is connected to the order picking and dispatch areas in terms of conveyor technology. The warehouse management software KlinkWARE takes over the system and material flow control of the eight lifters directly integrated into the shuttle warehouse.

38 shuttles and 4 lifters per aisle enable high performance in the warehouse with around 1,500 storage and retrieval operations per hour. Four of the six picking workstations connected to the conveyor system are equipped with multi-order picking systems. The goods are packed directly into boxes for online retail, while the company's 26 stores are supplied with container goods. An automatic system for erecting and loading the cartons with filling material supports the dispatch process. 1,500 parcels per hour are distributed across 16 dispatch lanes at 16 packing workstations and prepared for dispatch.
