Gebhardt is thus adapting the proven shuttle technology, which is already established on the market in container and carton conveyor technology, to pallet conveyor technology. The StoreBiter OLPS achieves higher throughputs and greater flexibility for the storage of pallets, pallet cages and large containers. The shuttle enables a variety of storage variants, from high-performance storage systems to storage systems with low throughputs. Equipped with two pairs of wheels per direction of travel, the shuttle changes direction automatically. The wheel pairs are shifted vertically upwards or downwards depending on the direction of travel so that only the required wheels are used. This significantly reduces operating and maintenance costs. The shuttles are partially controlled decentrally so that the working points outside the rack can be flexibly designed, extended and moved as required. A short-term change to the pre-zone layout due to an increased order quantity can be implemented quickly. This control system also allows the shuttles to determine their own optimum route. The intelligent control system enables the entire system to work effectively and without blockages. The software can be flexibly connected to a variety of WMS/WMS systems and offers great flexibility. Gebhardt relies on modern ultracap technology for the power supply of the StoreBiter OLPS. These ultracaps can be loaded quickly both on the shelf and in the pre-zone. This means that the charging time is not regarded as additional waiting time and the availability of the shuttle remains high. In order to achieve maximum autonomy, the innovative mechanical system reduces the number of motors installed, which has a further positive effect on reducing the acquisition costs and the tare weight. The biggest advantage compared to pallet RBGs is the low tare weight of the shuttle, which means that the ratio of tare weight to maximum payload is only 1:4.5.
