Service 4.0: Predictive maintenance of forklift trucks
Hubtex is currently equipping its vehicles with remote maintenance software. The sideloader manufacturer will be presenting the system to visitors for the first time at LogiMAT 2016. From March, all new vehicles will be equipped with the new software on request, while retrofitting to older vehicles will be possible from May.

A machine-to-machine (M2M) gateway on the forklift trucks is used to transfer data, such as the battery charge status, to a cloud provided by system partner Telekom. Customers benefit from predictive maintenance, maximum machine availability and minimized production downtime.

Vehicle sends data to the cloud
The sideloader manufacturer's trucks can now be equipped with an M2M gateway that enables an automated exchange of information between the vehicle and the cloud. In future, data such as the vehicle's operating hours, battery charge status and error codes will be read from the central vehicle control system and transmitted to a cloud provided by system partner Deutsche Telekom. Based on the operating hours, the system automatically recognizes the maintenance status of the devices - Hubtex can offer its customers preventive maintenance at the right time.
