Pick-by-voice in food retail
The East Frisian company Bünting Einkauf und Logistik Dienstleistungs GmbH & Co. KG relies on Lydia Voice, including the Voxter mobile voice computer from topsystem Systemhaus GmbH, to optimize its intralogistics. In the central warehouses in Nortmoor near Leer, Wallenhorst and Salzkotten, employees pick around 250,000 items per day from various food product ranges. The company benefits from a higher picking performance and, above all, from the speaker independence of Lydia Voice: there is no need to create a language profile for each employee. 115 Voxters are now used for voice-guided picking of the numerous product ranges. Voice input and output during the order picking process takes place via a headset. The Voxter mobile voice computer is worn ergonomically on a belt on the body. "Thanks to the pick-by-voice solution from topsystem, our employees have their hands free when picking, which is particularly important for product ranges where each item has to be picked with two hands. As a result, the picking speed has increased significantly," reports Wolfgang Klinge, Process Coordinator at Bünting Einkauf und Logistik.
