TSC Printronix Auto ID introduces new direct thermal printer
TSC Printronix Auto ID has launched a new mobile direct thermal printer - adding another basic and premium model to its Alpha series in the 3-inch segment.
According to the manufacturer, the weight of the smart all-rounder is particularly impressive at just 650 grams (including battery). However, other performance features such as battery capacity, connectivity and intelligent print management also score extra points according to TSC Printronix Auto ID.
The new Alpha-30R is a portable 3-inch direct thermal label printer. The basic model offers a print speed of 127 mm/s (5 ips), while the premium model boasts 152.4 mm/s (6 ips). Both all-rounders have one thing in common: they offer a sufficiently high print resolution of 203 dpi, the print width is 72 mm and the print length per label roll is 2,794 mm.
At 650 grams including battery, the Alpha-30R is more than 30 percent lighter than comparable models in this class, writes TSC. The wireless connection is achieved with the help of an integrated 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi certified module, with Apple-certified MFi Bluetooth and, for short distances, also with NFC technology. Users are therefore able to flexibly print the required labels and receipts wherever they are needed. Last but not least, the IP54-rated Alpha-30R can withstand dust and water without an additional cover - and can even withstand drops from a height of 2.10 meters without damage. If an optional protective cover is used, the printer remains undamaged even when dropped from a height of 2.50 meters.
