Solutions for service providers throughout Europe

In order to cope with the huge increase in volumes, practically all parcel service providers are expanding their existing facilities or the entire network by opening new locations. Companies can find the right contact for doors and loading stations at Koch-Lagertechnik.

Parcel volumes are picking up speed: in 2016, courier, express and parcel service providers in Germany transported more than three billion shipments in one year for the first time. This is shown by the CEP Study 2017, which was presented by the German Parcel and Express Logistics Association (BIEK) in Berlin.

Parcels are handled in regional bases, where the shipments are distributed from the long route to the local transport vehicles. Today, this takes place almost automatically using sophisticated technology. Manual work is only required at the interface between the hall and the vehicle, where particular attention is paid to preventing draughts and the ingress of rainwater. Employees and parcels need to be protected and a lot of energy can be saved here!

Koch-Lagertechnik from Lage in Lippe has been a point of contact here for many years when it comes to sealing the increasingly individualized door and loading stations. Here, door seals in small and large series are specially adapted to the customer's requirements and manufactured exclusively at the company headquarters. This makes it easy to meet a wide range of special requests - the height, width, depth and colors of the side panels can be adapted to the structural requirements and customer wishes. Wider vertical aprons with two or, on request, three pressure slats ensure lateral sealing. Koch has also developed combi-door seals to which both trucks and the much smaller delivery vehicles (Sprinter/Crafter or similar) can dock. This makes vehicle handling much more flexible. The TAS-SK model developed by Koch is also a door seal on the market that is virtually "indestructible" thanks to the absence of metal parts in the sides and a lifting roof that is independent of the side parts.

Koch-Lagertechnik recently received a major order for more than 180 door seals that were installed in England. The task here was to seal a type of vehicle that is probably only available there and in a few other countries. The trailers are particularly high at up to 4.80 meters. Koch has since been able to commission further similar projects, including in the Netherlands and Austria.
