Safe and ergonomic unpacking of sheet metal packages

Kasto Maschinenbau is expanding its portfolio with a brand new sheet metal turner that enables the safe and user-friendly unpacking and storage of sheet metal packages. Users can significantly reduce the manual handling of heavy sheets - this not only saves time, but also prevents accidents and injuries.

The Kasto sheet turning device consists of a drum-shaped turning device with a support surface that can be raised and lowered. Using a forklift truck, the user places the pack of sheets to be stored on it while they are still packaged. The sheets rest in the middle, which makes the entire construction particularly stable. The user can now first remove the strapping and film as well as the edge protection on the top. The drum of the tray turner then rotates 180 degrees together with the load so that the remaining packaging and the wooden pallet can be easily removed. The tray turner then returns to its starting position.

Once the packaging has been completely removed, vertical and horizontal pushers align the sheets precisely according to the user's requirements - either centered or at a reference corner. Stationary telescopic forks then transport the fully positioned sheets to a storage trolley next to the drum and place them on a storage pallet. This means that the goods are ideally prepared for automated storage and processing - without any heavy lifting or carrying. This improves both process efficiency and ergonomics at the workplace. Accidents and injuries can be reliably avoided.

The Kasto sheet metal turner is suitable for sheet metal packs in MF, GF and XF formats weighing up to five tons. It offers trading and processing companies an attractive way of automating the laborious unpacking and storage of sheet metal packs in an economical way. It is also suitable for turning corrugated sheets - these can be deposited on both sides as required. It can also be seamlessly connected to all Kasto sheet metal storage systems - ensuring a consistently efficient and ergonomic material flow.
