PROMStahl's Fall Guard prevents crashes
With a new design, PROMStahl has developed a fall protection system that prevents accidents involving industrial trucks on the ramp when they are maneuvering in front of loading points without docked trucks. There have already been a wide variety of solutions, but none of them have yet met with approval.
The company reports that the operator has found a solution. PROMStahl's fall protection system, known as "Fall Guard", is a safety system built into the dock leveller plateau and scores points with a new idea: if the dock levellers are in the rest position when the gates are accidentally open and trucks are not docked and industrial trucks manoeuvre in this danger zone without any further safety measures, folded-out blocking wedges built into the dock leveller plateau block further travel. This folding out happens automatically when the dock leveller is moved into the neutral position. If, on the other hand, the leveller is lifted after docking, they disappear back into the bridge plateau.
