We are the only company in Germany to pursue this concept," says Thomas Bunz, Managing Director of the Bunz Group. This includes three textile washing facilities in Kaufbeuren, Wangen and Lindenberg, a publishing house and the company Bunz New Technology, which develops intelligent system solutions for washing facilities. Thomas Bunz had the suction hall added to the existing car wash. Many business people would have shaken their heads at this. "Now customers come to me and feel comfortable."

Securing the location is very important to the entrepreneur. He has invested 350,000 euros in the project. The equipment is robust and of high quality. Thomas Bunz also carefully selected the two gates at the entrance and exit. "I've known the doors from Efaflex for a long time. I have now completed my first project with this manufacturer and I would choose them again at any time," he explains.

The exit of the car wash is also equipped with a high-speed door from Efaflex. "On peak days, we have 700 to 800 cars here for washing. The system then has to run smoothly. We need reliable products for this."

Wind and weatherproof - and transparent!

The high-speed turbo door impresses with innovative product features that make it universally applicable for sizes up to 8.0 m wide and 7.8 m high. The wind and weatherproof door leaf consists of crystal-clear and PVC-free acrylic glass slats. They are divided in 225 mm increments. This means that over 70% of the door surface is transparent, allowing plenty of daylight into the hall. The door leaf is accommodated in the Efaflex spiral in a space-saving, contact-free and therefore wear-free manner, because the individual "layers" are continuously kept at a distance during the high movement speeds of up to 2.5 m/s. This functional principle combines quiet, cultivated door operation with durability and availability. Even after many years in the toughest of applications, high-speed EFA-STT impress with their efficiency and flawless appearance. The permanently clear view through the door leaf proves to be an advantage: "See and be seen" promotes fast and safe operation in conjunction with vehicle movements, reduces collision damage and is a guarantee for customer acceptance.

Apart from the quality of Efaflex's doors, the user story shows that good ideas are often so obvious and yet hardly anyone implements them: Being able to clean and vacuum your own beloved car even when it's below freezing outside is an ingenious idea with which the company group scores points and which is sure to find imitators soon.

The gates are opened by contact loops embedded in the asphalt. "Our customers are amazed every time the gate opens in front of them as if by magic. And they enjoy the fact that it closes almost as quickly behind them." Thomas Bunz describes his "complete package" as one aspect of the enjoyment of modern technology. "On the other hand, they make a significant contribution to saving energy and meeting environmental protection requirements."

Effective customer loyalty

The company history of the BUNZ Group began with a car wash and three self-service facilities in Lindenberg in the Allgäu region. The facilities in Kaufbeuren and Wangen followed. In order to make them work efficiently, the aim was to achieve effective customer loyalty. The entrepreneur achieved this with a self-developed card, machine and billing system for car washes. Originally intended for domestic use, it quickly developed into a sought-after program for the entire car wash industry.
