As someone who has worked in intralogistics, formerly known as conveyor and storage technology or material flow technology, as a developer, planner, implementer and manager since 1966, I remember the birth of the magazine and its editors very well. In addition to the always interesting articles in the magazine, I have fond memories of the seminars organized by materialfluss in Munich in the seventies. Presentations on the latest techniques and applications were the main focus, but also the exchange of ideas within the industry. In principle, this was the birth of the congresses that were later organized by the VDI and the BVL Logistics Congress. I still study the individual issues of this magazine intensively today and hope that it will continue to publish its interesting articles under the current management in the "second half of its life".
