Nosta takes over the management of Sea & Air in Germany

Nosta has appointed Tobias Brandt to the management of Sea & Air GmbH in Germany. After the former
Managing Director Peter Mundt assumed his role as COO Sea & Air on the Group's global Management Board, Brandt has held the vacant management position in the product company as COO (Chief Operating Officer) since January 1, 2023.

Under his leadership, the full-service logistics provider intends to increasingly offer its transport services by ship and air to customers across business units and countries.

"With this long-planned personnel change, we are ensuring undivided attention for the German sea and air freight market," says Nicolas Gallenkamp, CEO of Nosta Holding. Previously, Mundt was responsible not only for the domestic, but also for the US and Dutch air and sea freight business. Mundt's appointment to the holding company's Management Board and Brandt's appointment as German Managing Director will ensure both the global and national development of the division.

The first task for the new COO and his 60-strong team is to expand the customer base. This is to be achieved both by winning existing customers from other Nosta divisions, such as the Road business unit, and by acquiring new customers with imports and exports to the United States. The latter can benefit in particular from Nosta's US branch in Chicago, Illinois.

Brandt: "Part of the growth strategy is to uncover and utilize existing synergies between the business units and between the various national markets." In this way, Nosta can offer customers a wide range of services from a single source. "When it comes to transportation from Germany to the USA - or vice versa - Nosta is on both sides, not an external partner. This makes the service more standardized and the joint success measurable and controllable," Brandt continues.

The 42-year-old has been managing the sales development and handling of Nosta products in the USA, such as the company's own weekly container groupage services (LCL) and air freight consolidation, for around one and a half years as a business developer under Peter Mundt. After all, the ultimate takeover of the Managing Director position was already clear when he was hired in mid-2021 - a plan that, according to Brandt's predecessor Peter Mundt, has worked out perfectly: "After a successful induction and a smooth transition of the Managing Directors, we know that our German sea and air freight business is in the best hands with Tobias Brandt."

Brandt previously worked as a trained forwarding agent in various transport and logistics companies, including as sales manager for Germany at an Australian forwarding group.
