Michael Grund new board member at Schmitz Cargobull

The Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG has appointed Michael Grund as the new Chief Operating Officer. He took up his position at Schmitz Cargobull on March 18, 2019. Michael Grund has international experience in numerous management positions in the areas of Operations, Portfolio Management / Strategy and Business Development, as well as Program Management and Engineering and, last but not least, in the field of digitalization.

"His profound specialist knowledge, his management skills and his affinity with the automotive sector make Michael Grund the ideal candidate for the Operations Board of Management. We are delighted that we have been able to recruit him for this challenging role," says Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kluge, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG.

After graduating as an industrial engineer, Michael Grund successfully founded a company specializing in meteorological services in 1998. His further professional stations led him to Hewlett Packard, TRW Automotive GmbH and, in 2014, to the technology company ZF Group TRW Automotive GmbH in Düsseldorf. As Global Director, he was responsible for the product portfolio strategy in the "Electric Power Steering Column Drive" segment. From 2016, as Vice President Operations European Steering, he was in charge of production, quality, logistics, AME & CI/Lean for electric steering systems, electronic motors, powerpacks and pumps and was responsible for the digitalization initiatives in these areas.
