Chinese consuls visit JadeWeserPort
Wilhelmshaven, 28.07.2016 - Two high-ranking representatives of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Germany visited the seaport of Wilhelmshaven on July 21. Consul General Sun Congbin and Economic Consul Tao Bailiang from Hamburg were able to gain an impression of the container terminal and the directly adjacent freight village during their visit.
After the official welcome by the Mayor of Wilhelmshaven, Ursula Glaser, Andreas Bullwinkel, Managing Director of Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH & Co. KG, first presented the structure of the dynamic and tide-independent universal port with its focus industries of oil, coal and chemicals. He then focused on the trimodal freight center with its space potential and existing service portfolio. With the current liner connections between Asia and Wilhelmshaven, the location on the Jade offers interesting prospects as a new player in the European port landscape, especially for Chinese import and export-oriented companies.
The Managing Director of Eurogate Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven GmbH & Co. KG, Mikkel Andersen, presented the container terminal with its modern superstructure for handling the world's largest container ships, the optimal nautical conditions and hinterland connections via rail and road, before going into detail about the shipping connections to and from the Asian ports. A tour of the port at JadeWeserPort rounded off the program. The consuls were accompanied by a delegation of around 40 members of the Association for the Promotion of Chinese Companies in Lower Saxony (VFCN) and the "ASEAN / Greater China" country network of the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Andreas Bullwinkel explained: "We are convinced that, together with EUROGATE, we were able to clearly present the advantages of the location to the guests from China and look forward to further contacts with Chinese partners". red
