BLG Logistics creates new position "Chief Operating Officer"

At an extraordinary meeting, the BLG Supervisory Board decided to create the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), who is responsible for the operational business at Board of Management level, within the company.

The two Board of Management departments Automotive, for which the Chairman of the Board of Management Frank Dreeke is currently responsible on an interim basis, and Contract will be merged in line with the principle of "One Face to the Customer".

The decision on the appointment has also already been made: Matthias Magnor, who has been responsible for the Contract division as a member of the Board of Management since October 1, 2021, will take over the position on December 1, 2022.

Specifically, the creation of the COO position is accompanied by an organizational mirroring of responsibility for finished vehicles and contract logistics vis-à-vis the BLG Group's customers, in particular the major automobile manufacturers. The company hopes to achieve synergy effects through closer cooperation between the two operating divisions. There will also be cost savings as there will be no new appointments to the Board of Management for the Automotive Division.

His undisputed professional, personal and communication skills make him the ideal candidate for the new position of Chief Operating Officer."

BLG's top management body now consists of the Chairman of the Board of Management (CEO) Frank Dreeke, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Matthias Magnor, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Christine Hein and the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Ulrike Riedel. Michael Blach, Chairman of the Eurogate Group Management Board, is the Management Board member responsible for the third operating division, Containers.

Personal details:
Matthias Magnor has been responsible for the Contract division as a member of the BLG Group's Board of Management since October 1, 2021. He has completely restructured this division with effect from 4 October 2022. The aim of the new structure is to make BLG's contract logistics more agile, future-proof and competitive. Before joining BLG Logistics, Matthias Magnor was Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Board at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Osnabrück. From 2014 to 2015, he worked as Chief Executive Officer for LH Bundeswehr Bekleidungsgesellschaft in Cologne. Born in Osnabrück, he has extensive expertise in supply chain management, logistics, services and retail.
