Order picking technology
Klosterfrau subsidiary picks with Picavi
The Klosterfrau Healthcare Group has equipped another site with Picavi's pick-by-vision solution. The subsidiary Artesan Pharma in Lüchow, Lower Saxony, ordered ten smart glasses.
The new project in Wendland can build on a successful collaboration in Berlin. There, the switch to Picavi data glasses led to time savings of up to 30 percent in small parts picking.
Successfully used since 2016
"Our experience with Picavi so far has been very good. We have been successfully using pick-by-vision technology at our plant in Berlin since 2016. For this reason, we decided in the middle of the year to also use the smart glasses for order picking at our site in Lüchow," says Andreas Paul, Head of Logistics at the Klosterfrau Healthcare Group, explaining the move towards more digital processes at his company's Lower Saxony branch.
Process adjustments coordinated
The companies agreed on process adjustments on the IT side for the use of the Picavi data glasses. This means that the SAP S/4HANA program can now be used in data warehousing during the rollout of the new picking application for enterprise resource planning. Artesan produces solid forms such as tablets and coated tablets, as well as liquids such as juices and drops. Artesan has been a subsidiary of the Klosterfrau Healthcare Group for almost two and a half decades.
