Two-phase model at the German Logistics Congress 2021

Planning security instead of slogans such as "Come to us, we'll take care of your health" - the German Logistics Association is relying on a two-phase model for the German Logistics Congress (20-22 October) in the second year of coronavirus.

In the first phase, BVL is planning it as a digital event. After the experience with the two-day Forum Automobile Logistics in February and many smaller formats, the organizer believes it is well prepared to offer participants a varied programme and partners in the areas of exhibition and sponsoring offers for the online presentation of their services and solutions.

At the same time, preparations are being made for a face-to-face part of the congress. The decision on the concrete implementation of an analog network event is to be made at the beginning of June and thus herald the start of phase two. If further developments regarding the incidence of infection, the vaccination situation and government regulations then make a safe face-to-face format with personal meetings appear possible, the BVL intends to implement this. It will therefore "switch to the hybrid event format, present content predominantly online and create safe spaces for personal encounters", as stated in a press release.

"We are convinced that we can also implement a live event in a short time window - and provide the logistics community with one of the first platforms for immediate networking, exchange and reunions," says Christoph Meyer, project manager of the congress at BVL.
