The material flow speaks

Martin Schrüfer,

Martin Schrüfer says: Christmas in November!

Christmas is still a long way off at the beginning of November, but my colleague Marvin Meyke and I are already looking forward to it like children under the Christmas tree.

In October and early November, we received a wealth of applications for the readers' choice of the materialfluss PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR 2021. Launched last year, the second edition of the award also promises an exciting field with great products.

On the one hand, we are delighted with this expression of a highly innovative industry that is working tirelessly on the intralogistics and logistics of the future. On the other hand, we are delighted for you: as a reader of materialfluss and user of http://www.materialfluss.de, you have a wide choice and can select "your" PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR. You will then find the nominations in the December issue: materialfluss WELT DER INTRALOGISTIK will be published on December 14.
You can already read the third part of our short fall series of interviews today: Following on from family entrepreneur Christoph Beumer(issue 8-9/20) and SSI Schäfer's CEO Steffen Bersch (10/20), this time I spoke to Jens Strüwing from Interroll via video call. The manager is responsible for both products and innovations at Interroll. You can read about how he tackles these two areas, which are essential for every company, from page 10 onwards.

Video calls are also a keyword for the German Logistics Congress, which is also noted in the calendars of some intralogistics companies. After a long back and forth, the event took place virtually. In addition to very well-made video streams, what I will remember above all is the strange perception of the events surrounding the event: the organizer could have recognized and communicated much earlier that a face-to-face event in Berlin in October in times of the pandemic makes no sense. There was no need for the delay.

Have a good November, best wishes!
