Future Logistics Congress to be held digitally in 2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Future Logistics Congress - 38th Dortmund Talks, jointly organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and the Digital Hub Logistics, will take place in digital form for the first time on 15 and 16 September.

The coronavirus pandemic also has the logistics industry firmly in its grip. After the trade fair season had to be largely canceled, Fraunhofer IML and the Digital Hub Logistics have now decided at an early stage tofollow the scientific advice of leading virologists and offer the Future Logistics Congress in September as a purely digital event for the first time. In these turbulent times, the organizers are deliberately giving priority to planning security and want to offer space for an exchange of knowledge and experience despite and precisely because of the economic crisis. In addition, this year's congress will be free of charge for registered participants in order to make a small contribution to relieving the burden on the shaken economy.

In line with the current discussion about more digitalization as a way out of the crisis, the motto of this year's traditional congress is "From Revolution to Transformation - With Artificial Intelligence into the Silicon Economy". The focus is on the transformation of the economy into a digital platform economy: the Silicon Economy. In addition to artificial intelligence and its legal framework, the focus will also be on machine learning and autonomous driving in logistics. The Dortmund scientists will provide answers to pressing questions on the way out of the economic crisis and towards sustainable solutions that are now more in demand than ever.
