Editorial: Faster, bigger - further too?

Everything is new in May, as the saying goes - and sometimes in December too! materialfluss WELT DER INTRALOGISTIK is new, and this special edition is replacing materialfluss MARKT for the first time this year. We will collect user statistics and market overviews online throughout 2020 and publish them on www.materialfluss.de.

We are using the space at the end of the year for a premiere: for the first time, we are asking you, dear readers, to vote for your material flow PRODUCTS and PROJECTS OF THE YEAR 2020 (from p. 24). More than 60 applications were received, the editorial team made a selection and added their own suggestions to the submissions from companies. materialfluss presents the winners in issue 3/20.

What was new for me was the experience of researching the 20 largest system integrators: In itself, a ranking is no longer a big deal in times of universally demanded transparency. Nevertheless, the reactions of the companies asked for their figures ranged from "yes of course, no problem, great idea" to "our management is very cautious and refrains from publishing" or "we don't like it that much". Of course, we accepted all opinions and refer to the old "Kir Royal" series motto "In is who is in". Curtain up for the first Top 20 system integrators, exclusively here in the intralogistics trade magazine (p. 22). Finally, the third important element of the special edition is the traditional economic survey: materialfluss asked about the expectations of intralogistics companies. 20 expert opinions for 2020 from page 14, and columnist Intra Logistik also has something to say about the "higher, faster, further" of many companies.
