"The chances are good"
Fachpack will take place in 2021
Fachpack, the trade fair for packaging, technology and processes, will take place on the regularly scheduled date from 28 to 30 September, the organizer predicts.
"There is a good chance that it will open its doors as an in-person event at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg. Experience from 2020 shows that the Covid19 case numbers are lower in summer. And there is growing hope that the vaccination strategies will start to take effect by then. The organizers have already provided sufficient space with two additional exhibition halls available. A general hygiene plan is also in place so that customers can travel to Nuremberg with a safe feeling and do business face-to-face. The placement of exhibition stands for Fachpack 2021 will begin in January," reports NürnbergMesse.
"The current level of registrations is extremely satisfactory for the pandemic period. We are expecting 1,300 exhibitors, mainly from Central Europe," reports Heike Slotta, Executive Director at NürnbergMesse. "In conversations with our customers in the packaging industry, we can sense how much they are longing to finally meet in person at an exhibition again. Especially now that relevant trade fairs for the packaging industry have also been canceled in spring 2021. We will do everything we can to organize a safe Fachpack in late summer 2021," Slotta continues.
The key theme of "environmentally friendly packaging" will once again play a central role. The two lecture forums Packbox and Techbox will be joined by the Innovation Box, where exhibitors will present their new products. The Sustainability Award and the German Packaging Award will once again recognize the best packaging solutions. Special shows, start-up areas, joint stands and more are also planned. Parts of the supporting program will also be streamed online.
In future, Fachpack will also extend its reach into the digital world. Specifically for Fachpack, this means that presentations at the trade fair will be streamed online and can also be accessed afterwards. In addition to physical contact opportunities at the trade fair stand, virtual matchmaking tools will also be offered. This means that contacts can be made and appointments arranged in advance.
A general hygiene plan facilitates visits to NürnbergMesse events. Contactless payment, booking online tickets, options for hand disinfection, a ventilation concept for exhibition halls and congress rooms, wide hall aisles to comply with distancing regulations, and traceability through digital contact tracing via app at the exhibition stands are examples of this. In addition to this general plan, each trade fair draws up a hygiene concept according to its own requirements shortly before the start of the event and depending on the current pandemic situation and the regulations in force at the time.
