Software enables greater transparency and flexibility in production and logistics. In the specialist presentations, visitors gained an insight into the possibilities with which IT can pave the way to the smart factory. Among other things, it can serve as the basis for more efficient value chains for integrated processes and material flows along the supply chain. In a guest lecture, Ferry Heilemann, co-founder and CEO of freight exchange Freighthub, addressed fundamental trends in logistics. A current project being implemented by Vacom was also presented. The interaction between WMS, ERP and MES was the subject of another specialist presentation. The agenda also included the use of viadat 9.0 at logistics service provider symbiolog, IT architecture as a growth factor in e-commerce fulfillment at Post Systemlogistik GmbH, as well as a cooperation project between viastore Software and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO.
