Oliver Seidl becomes new Chief Financial Officer of Schenker AG

Essen, 29.07.2016 - Oliver Seidl will be the new CFO on the Management Board of Schenker AG in Essen. The Supervisory Board of Schenker AG has appointed him to his new role at the earliest possible date. The 53-year-old is currently Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Media-Saturn-Holding in Ingolstadt.
Seidl brings with him many years of experience from various management positions in the finance sector and as a managing director and board member at listed international companies, among others. From 2010 to 2013, he was Chairman of the Executive Board of Loewe AG, where he previously worked for several years as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Services Officer. In previous years, he was responsible for controlling, strategy and M&A at medium-sized companies.
From 1990 to 2001, Seidl worked in various functions for Daimler AG in Bremen and Stuttgart, most recently as Head of Group Controlling in the Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars division. After training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, Seidl studied business administration at the universities of Göttingen and Marburg and graduated with a degree in business administration.
At Schenker AG, Seidl replaces the long-standing CFO Dr. Lutz Freytag, who is leaving the company at his own request on November 30, 2016. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Richard Lutz, is delighted with the appointment of Oliver Seidl: "We are bringing on board a proven expert with relevant experience as CFO of international companies." CEO Jochen Thewes says: "With his broad knowledge and personality, Seidl will further strengthen the Executive Board team."
Thewes expressly pays tribute to his predecessor Dr. Lutz Freytag, who had a decisive influence on the development of Schenker AG over the last nine years as CFO: "He has achieved a great deal for Schenker AG. We would like to thank Lutz Freytag for his immense personal commitment over the years and wish him all the best for the future."
