InstaFreight offers fast overland transportation from China to Europe

InstaFreight is now offering overland transportation in the supply chains from China to Europe and vice versa, which have been severely disrupted by the coronavirus. InstaFreight is thus expanding its service portfolio for the crisis period and is now supplementing the scarce air and rail transports on this route by truck.

InstaFreight acts as a freight forwarder and operates a partner network of over 12,000 transport companies in the Eurasian region via its digital platform solution, some of which are also active on the Silk Road. The transit time of the transports is 20-22 days, depending on the pick-up and unloading location. Double driver crews can also be booked for an additional charge, which can shorten the transit time by several days.

"As a freight forwarder, it is our job to be pragmatic in times like these and to find solutions to problems such as the current slowdown in the flow of goods from China to Europe. Our digital product and agile structures help us to implement such solutions with the necessary speed. After all, when it comes to systemically important goods, every day counts," says Philipp Ortwein, founder and Managing Director of InstaFreight GmbH. Maximilian Schaefer, also founder and Managing Director, adds: "By expanding our service area, we are stabilizing the supply chains in a phase of restarting Chinese industrial production and offering a very cost-effective alternative to the currently very cost-intensive air and rail transports. Due to the backlog of air freight shipments for Europe at Chinese airports, we have on average almost the same total transit time by road as by air." Depending on the desired Chinese location, the transport goes directly via Russia or Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
