Digital platforms: Symposium clarifies opportunities and risks
The motto of the CDO Aachen 2018 conference on November 13 and 14 is: "Seize the opportunities of digital platforms!" In the Smart Logistics Cluster on the RWTH Aachen Campus, the organizers want to convey ideas, experiences and solutions relating to digital technologies and their potential during lectures, workshops and tours through the innovation labs.
The conference will be combined with an exhibitor forum. Visitors to the event will be able to find out about the added value of digital platforms and their individual solutions from representatives of the exhibiting companies. According to experts, companies need to act quickly when using digital platforms, as these could rapidly change market and competitive structures. For example, new technologies are opening up numerous opportunities for companies to analyze and exploit data, but the B2B sector is still barely using this potential. At the same time, the need for employees with the necessary know-how to exploit this potential is increasing. The conference is being organized by the FIR, a non-profit, cross-industry research and training institute at RWTH Aachen University, as well as the VDMA and digitalHUB Aachen, among others. The institute supports companies, conducts research and teaches on the topics of service management, business transformation, information management and production management.
