The seaport and logistics service provider BLG Logistics has unloaded the new electric vehicles from the Chinese start-up Aiways from the ship of the shipping company Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean. Before the e-cars can continue their journey to France, they will be temporarily stored at the AutoTerminal Bremerhaven. During this time, BLG Logistics takes over the quality inspection and customs clearance for Aiways.

2.1 million vehicles are handled, technically processed and transported at AutoTerminal Bremerhaven every year. A total of 95,000 vehicles can be accommodated at the car terminal in the seaside city. AutoTerminal Bremerhaven is one of the largest car ports in the world. Every year, 1,300 car ships call at the terminal. All well-known car shipping companies serve Bremerhaven regularly.

The proportion of electric vehicles, both in handling and car transportation, has risen in recent years. The new technology not only places new demands on the infrastructure in the port, but also on the logistics concepts. The weight of the vehicles is important in port handling and transportation. The increased weight of batteries plays an increasingly important role both for the loading volume and for the loading of car transporters and rail wagons.
