Commercial vehicles category: 5,400 entries
The forklift truck was chosen as the 2019 winner in the commercial vehicles category by an international panel of experts. International design experts from business, science and the design industry had previously scrutinized around 5,400 submissions. The Roadster already caused a stir at its premiere: Thanks to special design interventions, it can completely dispense with the usual A-pillar. As a result, operators enjoy almost all-round visibility. This makes work easier and ensures greater safety.

"Questioning the status quo"
"We are delighted to receive this special award. It shows that it is worth constantly questioning the status quo and - in the interests of our customers - breaking new ground to ensure clear added value in goods handling," emphasizes Christophe Lautray, Chief Sales Officer, Linde Material Handling. Back in January, the Roadster received the French industrial design award "Observeur du design 2018" from the APCI (Agence pour la promotion de la création industrielle).
