Multidirectional sideloader

Daniel Schilling,

Compact all-round powerhouse

The DMS electric multidirectional sideloader has been a focal point of the Petersberg-based machine manufacturer's product portfolio since 1994.

Thanks to its compact size, the multidirectional sideloader is also able to drive through narrow aisles and travel paths and therefore easily adapts to confined spaces. The DMS is also suitable for transporting long, heavy and bulky goods: with a load capacity of up to 30,000 kilograms in the standard range and separate fork carriers, the multidirectional sideloader can transport long goods of up to 40 meters, for example.

This makes the DMS suitable for use across all industries: from the building materials market to the wood and plastics industry to mechanical engineering and wind turbine construction. With man-up cabs in the multidirectional sideloader sector, the driver's cab is traditionally mounted on the inner mast of the mast. This is not always an advantage, as high lifting heights also result in a high overall height of the lift mast.

However, this means that the classic load-accompanying cabin loses more of its purpose, as the operator is too far away from the load or has to accept a high climb into the machine. In order to retain the positive aspects of a man-up cab, Dimos has developed an innovative solution: the man-up cab with initial lift of the DMS is not attached to the lift mast inner frame, but directly to the fork carriage. Thanks to the unique initial lift, the cab moves with the forks to the top position. This gives users an optimum sitting and viewing position at a height of up to 14 meters. This function makes the DMS unique among multidirectional sideloaders.
