Ex-Porsche CEO Michael Macht to succeed John Feldmann
John Feldmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Kion Group, would like to step down from his position at the end of the 2019 Annual General Meeting in May. The Nomination Committee of the Supervisory Board proposes Dr. Michael Macht as his successor.
In addition to Dr. Michael Macht, Tan Xuguang, Chairman of Weichai Power, is to be re-elected to the Supervisory Board as a shareholder representative. John Feldmann has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the KION Group since 2011 and has played a key role in the development of the KION Group from a European industrial truck manufacturer to a leading global intralogistics and automation solutions provider.
Riske: "A valued advisor is leaving"
Gordon Riske, Chief Executive Officer of the KION Group, explains: "We would like to thank John Feldmann most sincerely for the enormous commitment with which he has supported the KION Group over the past eight years as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He has played a key role in shaping the implementation of the Corporate Governance Code in the Group as a result of his commitment to all stakeholders in the company. Continuity at the top
Michael Macht, a mechanical engineer, was Group Chief Production Officer at Volkswagen AG from 2010 to 2014 and a member of the Executive Board and most recently Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG from 1998 to 2010; he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the KION Group since October 2018. "We are delighted that Michael Macht is available for the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board. In his new role, he will build on the long-term continuity at the top of our Supervisory Board. We look forward to continuing to work with him," said Gordon Riske.
