Forklift attachments
Meyer has improved the multi-pallet fork with a new profile guide concept
This ensures better visibility and fast speed with optimum synchronization of the fork pairs. Meyer GmbH has been focusing on customer and application-oriented requirements in beverage and pallet logistics for more than 60 years. The engineers at the specialist for multi-pallet forks take a holistic approach to the trends and future requirements of material logistics - both in mass handling and fleet use as well as for mapping the many variations of international pallet specifications and highly specialized special solutions.

One design is not enough
At the beginning of the 1990s, Meyer introduced the closed axle guidance concept. Multi-pallet forks have to flexibly accommodate a wide variety of load dimensions and load arrangements - this often requires special opening ranges, fork spacings and movement sequences. The approach of mapping all product requirements with just one solution does not necessarily always lead to an optimum result. This was also the case here: a comprehensive study with intensive analysis of customer requirements and previous solutions on the market produced a clear picture. Only one design does not optimally combine these different requirements.
The new profile guidance concept
Although you can't invent a product twice, the developers at Meyer, with their many years of experience, have more or less succeeded with the new profile guide: "We stopped the dynamic load test with double the nominal load after one million cycles", reports Ingmar Grabbe, Product Manager Beverage Logistics at Meyer GmbH, proudly, "because we simply couldn't identify any weak points". In addition to its exceptional robustness, the new profile-guided version also offers the typical advantages of a Meyer multi-pallet fork: clean operation and fast working speeds with optimum synchronization of the tine pairs. "We have eliminated unnecessary guide elements, such as the additional axles for guiding the inner tines. The combination of low overall height and the largest central viewing window ensures the best visibility at all working levels," explains Ingmar Grabbe.
Full range for lifting
Hans H. Meyer GmbH was founded by Hans Herrmann Meyer in 1953 and developed into the second largest German manufacturer of forklift truck attachments. Meyer has been part of the Bolzoni Group since 2006. The Italian company Bolzoni SpA was founded in 1945. Meyer GmbH, with sites in Salzgitter and Korschenbroich, offers all products of the Meyer and Bolzoni Auramo brands. These include forklift truck attachments, forks and lift tables.
"In the new profile guide concept, we were able to eliminate almost all typical wear parts," emphasizes Grabbe, "and the few that are necessary have an extremely long service life and can be replaced in just a few minutes, if this becomes necessary at all over the period of use."The Meyer engineers work closely with the specialists at Clausthal-Zellerfeld University of Technology. For example, when it comes to selecting state-of-the-art plastics that combine robustness for the longest service life and good self-lubricating properties for minimal maintenance. Ingmar Grabbe summarizes: "You don't invent the wheel twice, but innovation in the depths of a product makes the difference, and that results in decisive added value for our customers.
The new, profile-guided multi-pallet fork has already been launched on the market and will be presented at various international logistics events.
