Israeli 3PL specialist Tapuz Delivery favors Ferag system
The Swiss company Ferag AG is equipping the central distribution center of the Israeli logistics service provider Tapuz Delivery in Petach Tikva (Tel Aviv-Jaffa area) with a Denisort sorting line.
The modular system, designed for compactness, will have 270 tilting trays that can be tilted to both sides and will control 162 sorting destinations directly in mesh trolleys. It will be used to sort 5,000 units per hour - polybags as well as traditional parcels - as part of order fulfillment. Commissioning is planned for November 2021.
The Denisort toggle switch sorter has already proven itself in many cases as a system for requirements in the e-commerce sector. It allows performance in the smallest of spaces. At the same time, it can be expanded later with various options.
It was precisely this aspect that prompted the Israeli 3PL specialist Tapuz to opt for the Ferag system. The logistics service provider, which was founded in 1995, has increased its e-commerce share so much - partly due to the coronavirus - that the company, which offers same-day delivery among other things, can no longer do without the powerful and fast sorter from Switzerland. Parameters such as the robust design and high quality played a key role in Tapuz Delivery's decision, as the system will be in operation 24 hours a day.
The Denisort line intended for the Israeli company's main base in Petach Tikva (greater Tel Aviv-Jaffa area) will process both traditional parcels and polybags weighing up to 12 kilograms. The line, which will result in a significant reduction in manual tasks, will be 95 meters long. Its manually loadable sorting trays measuring 650 x 525 millimetres can approach 162 sorting targets at a speed of one meter per second.
