Production expansion

Interroll plans new site in Germany

Interroll is expanding its production capacities for conveyors and sorters with a new site in Germany. The company is planning a new plant in Kronau near Karlsruhe with around 15,000 square meters of production space. Around 40 million euros are to be invested in several stages.

The plant is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020. 15,000 square meters of production space and 1,700 square meters of office space are planned for the new site. "Interroll is responding to the high growth momentum for conveyors and sorters with the decision to build a second, significantly larger plant in Kronau. This will ensure fast delivery times for our customers and end users in the future," says Jens Strüwing, Executive Vice President Products & Technology of the Interroll Group.

Interroll is thus doubling its production area in Europe in the area of conveyors & sorters and investing specifically in a higher degree of automation. In future, conveyors such as the modular conveyor platform MCP will be assembled in the new plant, which currently takes place in Sinsheim. The capacities freed up in Sinsheim are to be used for the expanded production of sorters.

The site is to be located in the "A5 Quartier" development area, which offers good connections to the transport network. It is also within easy reach of the existing Interroll plant in Sinsheim. "Even with the move, we and our employees will remain in the region, which offers a very good environment for us as an industrial company," says Bernhard Kraus, Managing Director of Interroll Automation GmbH in Sinsheim, who was responsible for the planning.
