For "economical and sustainable operation"
Beumer wins Chairman's Manufacturing Performance Award 2020
The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has now honored the Beumer Group with the prestigious Chairman's Manufacturing Performance Award 2020. With its AFR Systems (Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials) business unit, the Beumer Group supports cement producers in firing calciners and main burners with alternative fuels and raw materials. To this end, the system provider develops complete solutions to handle the different materials efficiently.
Cement production has always been one of the most energy-intensive industries. In order to avoid expensive primary fuels such as coal, gas and oil and to produce more economically and sustainably, many plants have been using alternative fuels for the combustion process in the calciner for a number of years. These include used tires, rubber shreds, plastics or other oily mineral materials as well as processed household or commercial waste.
With its AFR Systems division, the Beumer Group provides cement manufacturers with know-how and systems. It is thus able to supply and install the entire chain, from receiving and unloading the delivery vehicle to storing, conveying and dosing the solid fuels in a user-specific manner. The customer receives everything from a single source and therefore has only one point of contact.
The system provider has now been honored with the Chairman's Manufacturing Performance Award 2020. The award is presented by the Portland Cement Association (PCA) - a leading organization in the cement industry. "It is a great honor to accept this award on behalf of the Beumer Group," says Brian Giese, Director of Business Development, Conveying & Loading at Beumer Corporation. "It demonstrates our commitment to helping cement manufacturers produce in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way."
The PCA was founded in 1916. It represents companies in the cement industry in the USA in matters of policy, research and education. The award recognizes achievements in the development of pioneering products, unique processes and sustainable business practices. The award was presented to three companies this year.
